What a beautiful way to end the Love Month (or start the new month) with post such as this…

I am very thankful to Kayla of EssenCentral and Bhavana of Happening to be Happy for another nomination on my blog. I’m flattered that they find me (ahem!)… I mean, my writings lovely. 🙂

Kayla and Bhavana are both beautiful optimistic women . Their posts are really uplifting and inspiring. Visit their blogs and you’ll see what I mean.

I am my husband’s first girlfriend (he’s so lucky he did not get to experience the heartache of breaking-up with a girlfriend!)
I learned to play the guitar when I was 11 or 12 years old
I wear sneakers more often than I wear heels
I don’t eat raw meat and fish, but I eat raw vegetables.
I love teaching as a profession (yep, I was a teacher/Guidance Counselor)
It’s my dream to write and publish a book someday.

I want to say my big THANK YOU to the following Bloggers for their award nominations for my blog. 🙂

Thank you Nikki of Flying Through Water for the Blogger Recognition Award.

How my blog started: I really love to write, but my passion for writing was put aside for a long time. I have a family to take care of and I also have a regular job so I didn’t feel that I have enough time to write. But I got inspired after watching one TED Talk that discussed about finding your passion and purpose. I remember the speaker said “If money is not an issue, what is it that you would be doing?… I say you should do it now“…That’s what got me into starting my blog.

Advice for new bloggers: Whenever you write something, just remember that your words could make or break a person. That’s how powerful words are- so even if we have the freedom to express our own thoughts & ideas, we still have to be careful on the articles that we publish.

What is your most valuable possession? The love letters from my hubby-I know it’s cheesy but I still have them 🙂
How long have you been blogging? About 9 months. I started mid-May last year.
Where do you want to travel next? If given the chance, I really like to see Greece.
What is your mission? To spark a bit of happiness or hope to someone out there who needs it. 🙂
Do you like soup? What type of soup? (The silly question) Yes. Crab & corn and Nido soups taste good to me.

My Greatest Challenge in my life & how I got through it:
I consider it my greatest challenge to get pregnant. I have a Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) which causes hormonal imbalance and it makes it difficult to get pregnant. For a long time, I didn’t eat rice and I exercised in the gym every other day with my hubby. We also jogged together on weekends. Eventually, I got pregnant! 🙂 Discipline, Support from loved ones, and Prayers are all that I needed.

My Piece of Advice to people struggling with something in their life: When the going gets tough, know that it is God’s way of saying “I have better plans for you”…You may not understand it at first but you just have to put your faith and trust in Him. You’ll know the reason sooner or later.

I am truly grateful for all your recognition.

My First for 2017 =)

I am comfortable going out without wearing any make-up on. I’d rather spend an hour reading an interesting book, than spend an hour in front of the mirror putting make-ups.
I can cook a food that I’ve never cooked as long as I’ve tasted it- One of my many amazing talents! 😉
I’m a better Writer than a Speaker. In person, I stutter a lot!
I have a notebook where I write my thoughts for my daughter. She’s only 5-years old now so I could not really talk to her in a more mature way. But there are things that I want her to know from my experiences with her. So I just write them on my “Dear Gaby” notebook, and hopefully I will not lose it until she’d get to read it when she’s older. 🙂
Sometimes, I use my “travel time” to the office to pray. And I do randomly pray for strangers.
I could live a day (or a week) without my cellphone with me. It’s true.
I love planners. I still own an actual planner even if I could schedule upcoming events on my cellphone or Outlook. 🙂

7 RAMDOM FACTS ABOUT ME:
1. I like music- I play the keyboards and the guitar. My dad bought me my keyboards when I was in 5th grade and my first guitar on my 6th grade. My guitar now is a gift from my husband. 🙂

2. I am a Harry Potter fan. I’ve read “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” in just one day!

3. I truly enjoy watching the clouds in the morning and the stars at night. They remind me that there is a God who is always there for us.

4. I don’t like horror movies, but I do watch “The Walking Dead”.

5. My favorite places at home- garden & kitchen. Flowers and plants sort of give me positive energies, I feel happy being around them. And I love to cook! 🙂

6. I could listen to the same Jason Mraz songs every day.

7. I like art- I do some coloring on my Adult Coloring Book! (and my favorite color is yellow)

Sunshine Makes Me Smile

My Big Thanks to Keith of The Lights Breaks Through for nominating me for Sunshine Blogger Award, and to Nicky of TheShimmerWithinHer for sharing her Smiley Thumb Award.

It always put a smile on my face to know that other people show support and acknowledgement to what I do on my blog. It is heart-warming, encouraging, and inspiring.

…and now to answer the questions:

1. What do you love about blogging?
Being able to share a part of me to the world…AND seeing how people from different parts of the globe show kindness, concern, support and love to one another.

2. What is your favorite song?
Living in the Moment by Jason Mraz

3. What is your dream job?
I love Teaching and I also like to become a professional Writer

4. If you could exchange your life with anyone for one day who would that be and why?
I’d like to be the richest person in the world- so I could use his money to help as many people as I can, donate more to charities and non-gov’t orgs that aims to help the needy, and create programs design to empower people. 🙂

5. Your secret romantic fantasy?
Travel to Europe with my hubby.

6. What are your habits that you hate most or want to change them?
Procrastinating…

7. Your most embarrassing thing that happened to you?
When I was in grade 3, I was so sleepy in class that I called my teacher “Daddy” instead of “Sir” when asked to recite!

8. Your favorite color?
Yellow- the happy color! 🙂

9. Your motivation in life?
I help make people feel happy in my own little way.

10. Craziest thing you would like to do in life that you were not able to do?
Break the rules and be a bad ass for one day! LOL!

Write (I think)… I’ve got notebooks and planner on my bag!

Mountains. I love the invigorating smell of fresh woods and plants… But I like the sea too.

Read books or listen to a relaxing song.
What is your happy color?
It’s always been Yellow 🙂
If you visit a new place or country, what is the first thing you would do?
Take a picture!
What is the one thing you cannot live without?
Definitely a good book!
Who do you look up to?
I look up to my mon. But aside from her, I admire Morrie Schwartz- the subject on Mitch Albom’s book- Tuesdays with Morrie. I love his positive outlook in life.

Where are you from?
Manila, Philippines

How long have you been blogging and why did you start?
More or less 2 months. I started blogging because I love to write and I also have a passion to inspire people. I thought blogging would help me reach out to many. It kind of gives a sense of purpose or meaning to my life. 🙂

What are you most proud of?
When my family (Dad, Mom, & my Siblings) was given the “Model Family” award by our city government.

What are your blogging goals?
My main goal is to put a smile on my readers’ faces whenever they visit my blog or read my posts. It really makes me happy whenever someone appreciates and finds my posts helpful. My secondary goals are to improve my skill as a Writer, and gain more readers. To get to know other talented people and win friends would be a lovely bonus!

How do you spend your free time?
With blogging as exemption, I am either reading a book, watching a movie, learning to play a new song in my guitar, or studying/playing with my daughter. =)

Thank you to The_Legacy for recognizing my blog. 🙂

I started this week with my post Today is a Great Day!, encouraging all of us to set our minds that good things will happen, because if we release positive energy, the more positive things are drawn to us.

I am happy to say that a lot of good things are happening to me so far– both in my private life and with my writing. I am excited to know what more are in store for me the rest of the week! 🙂 I sincerely hope that you are also enjoying good things.

How I started this blog:

Writing is one of my favorite things to do. And like many of you, I also have a desire to inspire people. So I thought having a blog would help me reach out to many. I was also motivated to write after watching TED talks that discussed about living a life of significance and purpose.

My Advice to Other Bloggers:

I want to quote Robin Sharma- “Words can INSPIRE, and words can DESTROY. Choose yours well.”

The words that we write are powerful. They may inspire and motivate, and they may also discourage or hurt. Let’s strive to only write things that mean well for others.

Liebster Award 2016 (take 2!)

Big thanks to Pulkit at IMPOSSIBLYREAL for nominating me for the Liebster Award 2016!

I was supposed to nominate him because I find his blog interesting, intelligent, unique and quite entertaining but I was surprised to see him nominate me first (can I nominate someone who nominated me?) 🙂 Anyhow, I strongly recommend that you check out his amazing blog!

My Random Facts:

My favorite coffee flavor is Caramel Macchiato
I’m scared to drive alone.
I don’t watch horror movies.
I joined singing competitions from my elementary days up to high school. 🙂
I wanted to be a doctor but I’m scared of cadavers.
My ultimate Hollywood crush is Ashton Kutcher.
I want to be either a singer/musician or a writer.
I can go out without make-up on.
I was a Guidance Counselor (my first job!) 🙂
If I would choose between wealthy living and simple living, I’d choose simple living- no doubt!
I’m happier as a giver than a receiver.
