Refocus Your Lens

“In order for your life to be great, you must first learn to appreciate it!”- Unknown

When you wake up in the morning, do you get excited?, OR do you say, “haaayyy…” (with a deep exhale)?

Many people complain and worry about a lot of things- the time they get up in bed, they automatically think about the things that they do not like about their life.

“I don’t have enough money…and I hate my job”
“This house is too small…”
“I’m getting fatter every day!”
“My kids are driving me crazy…”
“I look like Mila Kunis, but I want to look like Jennifer Lawrence…”

…and the list could go on and on and on.

Instead of paying attention to what’s wrong with our lives, why don’t we concentrate to what’s right? And then do something to make it them even better.

“I’m thankful I have a job, I earn enough money to buy our needs. (but I can always look for a job that I enjoy doing too)”
“I’m glad our house is small, I get to see everybody everyday! (but we’ll try to save and expand the house so we get more space and enjoy a little privacy)”
“So what if I gained a few pounds? My husband still loves me! (but I’ll exercise to be fit so I could stay sexy for him)”
“My kids are being pain ’cause they want me to pay attention to them. (I’ll spend more quality time and do things that we can enjoy together)”

Wake up everyday with your lens focused on what’s going RIGHT, and you will have a better appreciation for your life and the things that you have.

What’s going right in your life right now? 🙂

    1. That is beautiful to know Johanna. 🙂 I agree with you, the more that we are positive in our perspective in life, the more that we attract positive things to happen. Thank you for reading my post and for sharing! 🙂

  2. Great post Nina and it’s so true. When I find myself losing focus I actually say to myself internally “shift the focus”. It’s amazing how quickly our thought patterns can change, for the better, if we’re aware of them.

  3. I’m grateful every day for the things that go right in my life. I have areas for opportunity, but for the most part I’ve been blessed and remind myself of that every day! Great post!

  4. I love this Nina! It really helped me today.
What’s going right is that I’m in a beautiful home … working on my blog … reading awesome posts like yours … and having a dear friend come home today to reconnect.
    YES! 🙂
    Blessings my friend.

    1. I agree with you Melanie. It is always a matter of choice of perspective. We can choose how we want to see things.
And thank you for sharing that quote from the Bible! Really inspiring! 🙂

      1. This is one of my favorite verses as I can apply it to any and every situation of life. When I think myself happy, things often look better. God loves me, I am saved, I have a great family, each day holds something unknown in store. When it comes down to it, I have no reason not to be happy even on the worst of days. Thank you for your post reminding me of this truth. : )

    2. That is such a wonderful way to view life! I agree that what we think we become… And just knowing that you have an amazing Father in heaven should be enough reason to be happy and grateful in life! 😊
