Let’s Plant Life Seeds!- Seed#1:DREAM

There are 5 things things in life that we know are important, but do not treat with much importance. You see, simply knowing is useless until what we know is applied and manifested in our behavior or actions.

Let me give you 2 simple facts:

1. OUR TIME ON EARTH IS LIMITED. The average life expectancy of a person is 78.8 years according to CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention)

2. WHAT YOU PLANT IN YOUR EARLY YEARS, YOU WILL REAP IN YOUR LATER YEARS.

Some people would see our life as a book, and we’re the authors.
For this time, I want us to picture our life as a garden and we’re the gardeners planting the seeds that we will reap later in our life.

For today, let’s talk about the first seed that we need to plant and I hope that you will ponder on it like I do. 🙂

“For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you” -Jeremiah 29:11

I want to believe that God did not put us here on earth merely to exist. We have a purpose. And this purpose in embedded to us when we were born. Aren’t you wondering sometimes why people should have different personalities, interests & skills? Unlike other living creatures, we are the only ones who have unique preferences and potentials. Could they be clues to God’s plan for us? Could they be the hints to our purpose?

What is your Dream?
What skills are you good at that you also love doing?
How will you profit and how can you serve others with that dream?

I know I love to write.
And I also think that I have a skill in writing (please let me know otherwise so I’d immediately kill my delusion of becoming a writer right away!)
How will I profit from it? On the financial aspect, I do not know yet- but I know that it makes me happy, it nourishes my soul, it uplifts my spirit, and it also helps with my mental health.

When I started this blog, I planted my dream seed.

I also have a more personal dream. I dream of a happy family.
I want to stay in-love with my husband.
I want to have a closer connection with my daughter.
I want to have a close relationship with our family (our parents & siblings).

And so I plant seeds for this dream. From a simple ritual to making sure to kiss & hug to spending quality time- one on one and as a family.  We’re not a perfect family (believe me when I say we do have our fare share of disagreements and fights) but we  do our best to do daily acts of love and have fun together.

I read from a book that “If you want to keep your family home, make it a happy home.”

What are your dreams and heart’s desires? What do you do or have done to make it your reality?

  1. My gosh, I promise I just finish talking with God in the shower about my dreams, and then came to my desk to write my questions on paper. I have so many dreams, but I’m so piss that I didn’t sow the seed earlier. This then makes me so depress, so thanks for sharing this. I really needed to think about these things and plan on now sowing seeds for my future. Good Luck to you on your dreams as well.

    1. God really does answer our prayers! 😊 I’m in my 30’s now and I haven’t worked really hard on attaining my deams either…sometimes, we wanted to be safe and secure but the more I get older, the more I realize that we need to be braver and get out of our comfort zone to make our dreams a reality. This time, I’m finding comfort to God’s word! 😊
I wish you the best and will join you in praying for your dreams!

  2. Love the idea of planting seeds! 🙂 My seed is one of connection, love, curiosity, and inspiration. I plant this seed by listening to others, offering compassion and understanding whenever I can, forever asking questions, and sharing my experiences, art (in the form of paintings and photographs), and thoughts with others, as well as being acutely aware of the world around me and the magic in every moment.

    1. It seems to me like you’re living your dream! It’s always nice to read about people being happy knowing exactly what they want in life and just doing it! When I grow old, I want to look back at my life and be happy that I did what I meant to do. 😊 Thank you for sharing! It inspires me.

  3. “And so I plant seeds for this dream.” I’m not sure why, but I found this statement to be particularly beautiful. This is a very encouraging and inspiring post! And BTW I think you are a skilled writer. 🙂

  5. I am relatively new to following your blog (since December). Have been impressed by how consistent and frequently you post. Your writing/sharing is unique in that you’re accomplished at bring your own authenticity to the front, and yet having a very others/outward emphasis. Mutual blessings! One of my dreams officially launches today — my own consulting business. I became aware of that seed last April and who can know how long it was there beforehand! God is the master of weaving such beautiful connectedness through our lives!

I’m happy to know that one of your dreams finally came true! Truly, God’s plans for us is always perfect, even though sometimes we may think that the timing is delayed.

  6. Thank you for sharing this. Very positive and uplifting. Agree with most of your views. 🙂 My dream is to make writing a career. I love to share my thoughts and feelings with others. I also love to help people with my writing. As far as the seeds I’ve planted, I was in a poetry & writing group in college and that gave me motivation to write and I did get published in one of the department newsletters sometimes.

As far as now is concerned, I’ve taken to blogging ever since a month back and I’m really glad I did. I’ve been more consistent than ever and feel happy doing this. I too am hoping to turn this into a financial prospect. I have some ideas too (affiliate marketing & making my own products – a book, for example), but I’m yet to act on that.

Thanks for the article. You could try one of the above methods I mentioned. You can also try having a sponsored post done. Promoting a product that you feel brings value to people’s lives & is within your niche of blogging (happiness & self-development related, I suppose?).

    All the best and cheers!

Thank you for your suggestions too. I will try to consider those.
      I wish you a wonderful day! 🙂

  7. Nina as far as my dream I have many, but one I’ll share is expressing myself through writing. When I don’t have time it’s much like not getting my workout in, I feel bit off. I’m just ready to break out the muse if you know what I mean. I love how you are planting seeds here. I will certainly stop by for encouragement. 😊

  8. I’d like to clear away some of the “weeds” of the past. That might help to make me feel a bit more satisfied with my life. I’m not sure I’ll get what I want, as I’ve tended to a few of these things with no success. They have existed for years, so I don’t expect they will go away for some time. I just keep praying that they will…

    1. Perhaps those dreams we’re tending aren’t the ones that God wants for us? Nevertheless, I believe that if it is His will, it will happen in His timing. 🙂

    1. Thank you Nikki! ☺ I could understand why that is. Our children and family are always the priority! Well now that he’s all grown up, you can start dreaming again. You have all the time to focus and perhaps start tending to them now. 😉

  10. Hi Nina, I really love this post and how honest and open you are. I think that planting seeds is something we continuously do through our life as our needs and priorities change. For me the important thing is cultivating what we already have and making sure the roots stay solid. Thanks Nina for a very inspiring read. xo 🙂

You’re right, cultivating the seeds that we plant is very important so they grow strong enough to stand the adversities that life throws us. I’ve written the next 3 seeds. One more to wrap up this series. I hope you’ll like the others too! 😊

  13. Oh Nina, thank you ❤ Reading about your dreams is very sweet.
Right now, I am a little tired to think about my dreams. I do have about 5 – 7 ideal scenes around my room to nurture and remind me of my heart's calling ❤ Thank YOU for reminding me of that right now.
Many blessings my friend, and smiles. Good posts of note choice by Nikki!!!!

  15. I love this visual story and the thought of planting seeds. Jeremiah 29:11 is my life verse for the season as I try to discover where he is leading. I know that wherever it is, it will be because of plans laid long ago. 🙂

  16. My dream is to have the freedom spend every day as I desire. So I’ve planted that seed and have been watering and cultivating it daily. Nina it doesn’t matter what others think about your writing, all that matters is if it makes you happy. If it does keep doing it, if it doesn’t stop. Write how you want to, what you want, when you want. Express yourself in a way that is true to you…that’s what matters. God put us here to be joyful and happy. When we are joyful and happy we will then make others joyful and happy…most of the time! This is such a great post…so much to ponder over. Thanks for the inspiration!! 🙂 Wishing all your dreams come true. xo
